Oh boys and girls, and non binary football fans, and anyone else that I missed, do we have a doozy this Thursday. Week two of TNF is going to be a fun one, if you like insanity. The Browns will be hosting the Bengals in what is undeniably only fun for gamblers.
There isn’t a lot that Ohio is good for, but God damnit, do they love football. Thursday night games aren’t your typical star studded match ups, but this ones perfect. The only thing I’ll be missing is the color rush jerseys. We need them back for games like this. Nothing would make me happier to see OBJ in a shit brown color rush jersey for the obvious reasons. The man gets pooped on (allegedly) and I don’t care that I’m the 100763rd person to make an OBJ shit joke it’s still funny.
Now after that long run on sentence, let’s talk about two guys who are much more exciting than the city of Cleveland: Burrow and Baker. I am a huge fan of both these quarterbacks, they have what some people call moxie. I’m not too sure what “moxie” is, but people love throwing that around when talking about these two guys. All I do know is these kids will be out there slinging the football around. Now that being said will that translate to points… probably not.
These QB’s have less support than most porn stars get from their parents. Baker may have weapons around him, but does he have protection from the “thicc bois” up front? Will Joe be able to play the whole game like his second half in week one? These are all good questions… that’s why I ask them. Now this will be floating around my gambling brain as I’m making this pick.
Honestly I haven’t made my pick yet but I’ll have one by the end of this blog. Like I said I enjoy watching both these guys throw a football around, it’s fun. I just don’t see it to leading to many points. Mixon and the Chubb/Hunt combo are both great run games. We’re getting Joe on a short week so don’t be surprised to see them run the ball a lot. Chubb and Hunt should also be getting a lot of touches as they try and take advantage of a banged up Bengals D line. All of this, in my dumb brain, tells me that this is an under game and 6 points is a lot in a slop fest.
